Why I'm Hosting the “Rest and Restore” Retreat
As a yoga instructor, intuitive astrologer, and sound practitioner, I know firsthand how life’s demands can take a toll on your body and spirit. When I was raising my children in my 20s and 30s, I didn’t believe rest was an option. Between working full-time, managing a family, and running my kids to different sports events, the only time I had for myself was working out—lifting weights. While it gave me a brief escape, it wasn’t restorative.
By the time I reached 40, my body gave out, physically and mentally. I realized I needed to slow down, but even then, I gravitated toward aggressive styles of yoga. It wasn’t until I took my first Yin and Restorative class that I understood how much my body needed rest to regulate and gain clarity. That experience transformed me, and now it’s embedded in the yoga I practice and teach.
That’s why, at the age of 46, I’ve designed the “Rest and Restore” retreat—a sanctuary for women, especially women of color, to pause, heal, and find renewal. Through mindfulness practices, restorative yoga, sound baths, and guided reflection, I aim to offer the rest I once didn’t think was possible. This retreat is about creating space for you to reconnect with yourself because you deserve to nurture the one person who gives so much: you.

With a master's in Social Psychology and two years of clinical experience in brain injury rehabilitation, Jenny now blends her psychology background with her work as a yoga teacher and nature connection facilitator. Currently pursuing a master's in Organizational Psychology, she integrates both eastern and western philosophies into her practice. Jenny believes that no single practice holds all the answers, but rather that different practices resonate at various stages of one's journey. With a deep connection to nature and a foundation in Jungian Depth Psychology, she finds that returning to the natural world, especially the cultural landscape of Ireland, offers space for reconnection and inner reflection.
